Scania Develops its Sales and Service Organisation


SODERTALJE, Sweden, Sept. 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Over the past fifteen years, Scania has carried out forward integration and implemented a substantial change in its sales and service operations. Today nearly 40 percent of Scania's employees and assets are at work in its sales and service companies, compared to about 10 percent in the early 1990s. Meanwhile the task of taking full advantage of the economies of scale related to this investment remains.

Hans-Christer Holgersson, today Senior Vice President Latin American Operations, and Per-Erik Lindquist, today Senior Vice President Sales and Services Europe, will join Scania's Executive Board on 1 January 2006. Gunnar Rustad, Group Vice President Sales and Services, will leave his position at the same time. Mr. Lindquist will assume responsibility for Franchise and Factory Sales and Mr. Holgersson for Sales and Services Management. Mr. Holgersson will be succeeded in his current position by Michel de Lambert.

Hans-Christer Holgersson, 52, joined Scania in 1985. Among other positions, he has served as Managing Director of Scania Finans AB, Managing Director of Scania Argentina and most recently as Senior Vice President Latin American Operations. Per-Erik Lindquist, 45, joined Scania in 1984. After various positions within the sales and service organisation, among others as Managing Director of Scania Belgium, Mr Lindquist left Scania in 2000 for a position as Executive Vice President at Alfa Laval. In 2004 he re-joined Scania as Head of Sales and Services Europe.
