HCC Takes Precautionary Measures At Home Office for Hurricane Rita


HOUSTON, Sept. 21, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:HCC) announced today that the Company has activated its emergency weather policy to protect its employees and fixed assets due to the incoming storm. The HCC home office in Houston, Texas will be closed on September 22nd and 23rd and the Company anticipates the office will reopen on Monday, September 26.

All e-mail and Internet functions have been moved to the back-up location at the Company's subsidiary office in Kennesaw, Georgia. Any emergency inquiries should be directed to (877) 866-0722.
