Northrop Grumman Brings Supply Chain Management Solution to Millennium Steel


MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 22, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) today announced the company's OpenTrac(TM) software and e-commerce system will assist Millennium Steel Service's expansion to San Antonio, Texas, by helping the company manage its business, update its technology and processes, and reduce operational costs.

Northrop Grumman's Web-based OpenTrac software for the metals industry is an enterprise resource planning solution that helps control the supply chain, and links communication between a business and its trading partners.

Under the five-year, follow-on contract, Northrop Grumman will provide supply-chain management capabilities for better transaction communication between Millennium Steel's suppliers and customers. Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will also provide support services for software, security, engineering, data, training, management and integration.

"Northrop Grumman's OpenTrac solution will help Millennium Steel seamlessly integrate data to meet customer needs and the company's strategic and revenue goals," said Joe Delaney, vice president of Commercial Information Technology Services at Northrop Grumman IT.

In addition, Northrop Grumman IT will upgrade Millennium Steel's Princeton, Ind., service center with an enterprise resource planning system accessible to the entire corporation.

"The enhanced features of the OpenTrac system will allow Millennium Companies to better meet our customer needs while leveraging our past investment," said Henry Jackson, president of Millennium Steel Services, a minority-owned joint venture with Toyota Tsusho America Inc.
