LXE Introduces Rugged, Speech Recognition Computer -- The HX1 with ToughTalk Technology

HX1 Runs Open Systems, Voice Directed Applications

ATLANTA, Sept. 27, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- LXE, a leading manufacturer of rugged wireless computers that improve the performance of supply-chain execution applications, is pleased to announce the introduction of the rugged, wearable, speech recognition computer, the HX1. The HX1's open systems hardware and software architecture are designed to support open system, voice directed applications, providing customers a rugged alternative to the limited selection of voice hardware solutions currently used in voice logistics applications.

The HX1 is built around LXE's ToughTalk technology. ToughTalk is LXE's specialized combination of LXE's trademark ruggedized system design, advanced audio circuitry and noise canceling techniques which enable the HX1 to support today's industrial-grade voice recognition applications. LXE is also announcing that it is "voice-enabling" its line of rugged handheld and vehicle mounted computers by integrating ToughTalk technology into these units. These multi-use computers will reduce hardware investment and support costs by giving customers the ability to use the same wireless computer for both their voice applications and their traditional bar code based applications.

"To LXE, voice-based applications are just one of many tools our customers use to collect the data they need to run their warehouses," says Doug Brown, LXE Director of Product Management. "The HX1 speech recognition computer, along with LXE's current line of wireless computers and RFID readers, provide our customers a rugged wireless computer for almost any data collection application they will run."

LXE will be selling the HX1 speech recognition computer directly to end users and also through voice recognition providers, WMS providers and voice system integrators.
