Emulex Leads 4Gb/s Technology Migration Design Win With HP

Emulex Delivers High Performance 4Gb/s SAN Connectivity Solutions for HP ProLiant and HP StorageWorks Customers


NEW YORK, Sept. 28, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Storage Decisions -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX), the industry's preeminent source for a broad range of advanced storage networking infrastructure solutions, today announced that the Emulex 4Gb/s LPe11002 and LPe1150 Fibre Channel (FC) host bus adapters (HBAs) have been selected by HP for its family of HP ProLiant servers. This design win signifies the first 4Gb/s solution deployment leveraging a native PCI Express architecture.

Emulex's 4Gb/s connectivity solutions, including its LPe1150, a single-channel HBA targeted at midrange storage systems, and its LPe11002, a dual-channel HBA well-suited for enterprise storage systems, are also fully qualified and supported for use with the HP StorageWorks family of products. Emulex's 4Gb/s solutions, qualified for use within Windows and Linux operating environments. For Windows solutions, the LPe1150 and LPe11002 utilize both the Microsoft Storport Miniport and SCSIport Miniport drivers. Emulex's new 4 Gb/s HBAs provide customers with the ability to double the speed of today's 2Gb/s storage networks, while leveraging the flexible Emulex firmware-based architecture to ensure backwards compatibility and a seamless migration path.
