Optio Software Donates to Red Cross

Company matches employee donations for Hurricane Katrina relief


ALPHARETTA, Ga., Oct. 7, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Optio(r) Software, Inc., (OTCBB:OPTO) announced today that it has donated more than $10,000 to the Metropolitan Atlanta Red Cross Chapter in support of Atlanta-area Hurricane Katrina evacuee relief efforts. Optio employees contributed $5,300, which the company matched for a total commitment of $10,600.

"We hope that these funds will be used to provide shelter, food, medical supplies, bedding and other necessities to Katrina victims as they recover from one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history," said C. Wayne Cape, Optio Software chairman, president and chief executive officer. "Optio is proud to partner with the American Red Cross to help rebuild the lives of those who were affected."

Employee contributions were made through payroll deductions during the month of September. "Thanks to the generosity of Optio employees, we're doing our part to help friends, family, customers and business associates affected by Katrina," said Caroline Bembry, Optio Software chief financial officer.
