Education Realty Trust Announces Third-Quarter Cash Dividend


MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Education Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:EDR), America's most experienced provider of collegiate student housing, today announced that its board of directors has declared a cash dividend of $0.30 per share of common stock for the quarter ended September 30, 2005. The dividend is payable on November 7, 2005, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on October 24, 2005.

The latest declaration brings to $0.79 cents per share the total dividends paid or pledged to shareholders through the company's first eight months of operation as a public company.
