Nippon Denwa Shisetsu Partners With Semotus for Advanced System Integration

Clickmarks continues to expand in Japanese Market

LOS GATOS, Calif., Oct. 13, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Clickmarks, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Semotus Solutions (AMEX:DLK) announced today that Nippon Denwa Shisetsu (NDS) has agreed to be a reseller and System Integration Partner for Clickmarks in Western Japan. In addition, NDS has also purchased software licenses for the Clickmarks Enterprise Suite which will be deployed as part of an eGovernment project currently under development with local Japanese governments.

NDS, a publicly-traded Japanese corporation, provides a broad range of IT services to large enterprises, with special expertise in network infrastructure, software integration, and mobile system development. Headquartered in Nagoya, Japan, NDS has a long history of providing comprehensive solutions to an ever changing landscape of customers and technologies ranging from communications infrastructure for homes and businesses to IT related and mobile business infrastructure.

NDS is currently implementing a large-scale integration project as part of the local eGovernment initiative. The project requires the integration and interoperation of different software systems, and NDS plans to utilize Clickmarks as the core integration engine. Since the local government's backend infrastructure consists of disparate systems from multiple vendors, source code, database and API level access may not be available in many cases. Clickmarks' patented Presentation Level Integration (PLI) technology allows NDS developers to service-enable these software systems using the User Interface or Presentation Layer of the applications. PLI enables the capture of functional flows and content at the User Interface level as web services which can then be used to integrate and automate various business workflows.

The Clickmarks Enterprise Suite enables developers to integrate with an application's user interface, to create web services and composite applications out of any application which may then be deployed over mobile, portal or web channels. This process dramatically reduces development time and eliminates the need to access an application's source code, APIs, or database.

"Acquiring a prestigious Japanese technology vendor and a public company as our distribution partner in Japan is a wonderful achievement," said Umair Khan, President of Clickmarks. "It is especially encouraging to see the partnership immediately deployed on a major integration project. We welcome NDS as a partner and, given the auspicious beginning, expect a long and productive relationship."

"We are gratified to secure NDS as a partner and to have an early joint success with them in serving the needs of the local eGovernment initiative," said Anthony Lapine, CEO of Clickmarks and President and CEO of Semotus Solutions. "Integrating and extending web and legacy systems as a means of achieving workflow automation, ubiquitous information access and overall business process improvement, remains a must-have at large organization. With continued customer successes, Clickmarks consolidates its position as the pioneer of non-invasive integration and as a vital innovator in the world of on-demand software."
