Neoware and ClearCube Collaborate to Grow PC Blade Market

Neoware to Supply Thin Clients and Software to ClearCube for PC Blade Solutions

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. and AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 17, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Neoware Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:NWRE), the leading supplier of enterprise software, thin client appliances and related services, today announced that ClearCube Technology, the market leader in PC Blade computing, has selected Neoware to provide its IP-based User Ports for its widely-acclaimed PC Blade solution. ClearCube cited Neoware's use of open standards, remote management software expertise and proven technology as the driving forces behind the choice to partner with Neoware.

"We are pleased with Neoware's ability to integrate seamlessly with our PC Blade technology at both the hardware and management software levels," said Carl Boisvert, chief executive officer for ClearCube. "This partnership expands our User Port offering and gives our customers more ways to connect to our centralized PC Blades."

The ClearCube solution allows companies to take the computer off the user's desk and shrink it to a PC Blade that is centralized in a secure location. User Ports, small devices that connect to monitors and peripherals at the desk, are either directly connected or dynamically allocated to PC Blades in the data center. ClearCube software including Blade Manager, Control Center, and Grid Center manages the PC Blades, the User Ports, and the connections that link them together. Customers that deploy this solution achieve tighter security, higher availability, and better manageability translating into lower overall computing costs.

"The combination of Neoware thin clients with the ClearCube PC Blade solution offers customers a cost-effective, reliable and manageable desktop system," commented Michael Kantrowitz, chairman and chief executive officer for Neoware. "We are pleased to partner with ClearCube to bring these innovative PC Blade solutions to market." Neoware has also joined the ClearCube Solution Network, the industry's first PC Blade ecosystem.

ClearCube User Ports based on Neoware thin clients can connect over standard Ethernet networks to any PC Blade in the enterprise regardless of distance. The Neoware thin clients selected by ClearCube enable connecting standard peripherals such as a keyboard, monitor and mouse as well as specialized peripherals for multiple monitor support and secure wireless connectivity. ClearCube PC Blades offer the same performance as standard PCs by using Intel Pentium 4 and Xeon processors, standard memory, full-size hard drives, and Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems.

The ClearCube blade solution combined with Neoware-provided User Ports will be available world-wide from ClearCube and its network of authorized resellers. Additionally, Lenovo, the world's third largest personal computing company formed by Lenovo Group's acquisition of the former IBM Personal Computing Division, jointly markets and sells ClearCube PC Blades and Neoware thin clients.
