Polaris Wireless Provides Edge Wireless With Its Patented Wireless Location Signatures Solution

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 24, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Polaris Wireless (www.polariswireless.com), a pioneer in wireless location technology, today announced that Edge Wireless, LLC will deploy the Polaris Wireless Location Signatures(tm) (WLS) system to comply with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) E-911 Phase II requirements.

"Edge Wireless is committed to ensuring accurate emergency services as mandated by the FCC's E-911 rules," said Donnie Castleman, president and COO of Edge Wireless. "Polaris Wireless provides Edge Wireless with a network-based solution that meets the FCC's requirements."

"Polaris Wireless is excited to be powering Edge Wireless' location system with our WLS solution," said Manlio Allegra, CEO of Polaris Wireless. "As carriers continue to implement emergency and location-based services, Polaris Wireless remains dedicated to ensuring deployment of leading-edge solutions that benefit the wireless industry."

Most wireless carriers currently deploy or soon will be deploying E911 Phase II location technologies according to timelines set forth by the FCC.

Allegra noted, "The Edge Wireless rollout clearly demonstrates the importance of products such as Polaris Wireless' WLS in the marketplace that dramatically reduce costs and deployment times."

Polaris' WLS is a breakthrough wireless location technology. Its performance has been widely tested in the United States and Europe. Polaris's WLS software solution resides on standard computer servers and requires no modifications to the handsets or to the radio cell sites. It simplifies and accelerates deployments, provides complete network coverage and dramatically reduces capital expenditures for wireless carriers compared to other network-based location solutions.
