BALTIMORE, Oct. 28, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has promoted John C. Johnson and Joseph J. Ensor to vice presidents in its Electronic Systems sector, effective immediately.
Johnson has been named sector vice president and general manager of the aerospace systems division, succeeding James F. Pitts, who recently became corporate vice president and president of the Electronic Systems sector. Johnson had most recently served as vice president of the combat avionics systems business unit.
Ensor, formerly vice president of combat avionics programs, succeeds Johnson as vice president of the combat avionics systems business unit.

The sector's aerospace systems division encompasses product areas like military airborne surveillance radars, airborne-tactical and fire-control radars and electro-optical systems.
Johnson joined Northrop Grumman in 1989 as a marketing manager following a distinguished 20-year career with the U.S. Air Force. He has held a number of executive positions in the company's business development, systems development and technology and aerospace organizations. In 2001, he was appointed vice president of sector advanced development programs. He assumed his most recent position, as vice president of combat avionics systems, in 2004.
Johnson earned a bachelor's degree from New Mexico Highlands University and a master's degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. He has also completed The General Manager Program(tm) at Harvard Business School and executive marketing strategy program at UCLA. During his Air Force career, he flew the RC-135, T-38, FB-111 and F-15 as both an instructor and command pilot, accumulating more than 4,000 flight hours.
Ensor joined the company in 1979 and has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility in the engineering and program management organizations. He assumed his most recent position, as vice president of combat avionics programs, earlier this year.
Ensor earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from Loyola College and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Maryland. He has also completed The General Manager Program at Harvard Business School and the executive marketing strategy program at the University of Maryland.
