LOS ANGELES, Nov. 2, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced today that its board of directors has elected Ian V. Ziskin corporate vice president and chief human resources and administrative officer, effective Jan. 1, 2006.

Ziskin will succeed J. Michael Hateley, who has elected to retire on March 1, 2006 after 30 years with the company. Hateley will remain with the company as a corporate vice president and assist with the transition until his retirement.
Ziskin, 47, currently is Northrop Grumman's vice president of human resources and leadership strategy. In his new role, he will lead the full range of human resources and administrative functions for the corporation.
Ronald D. Sugar, Northrop Grumman's chairman, chief executive officer and president, stated, "Ian's strong leadership capabilities and his strategic focus on human resources management have contributed greatly to the development of Northrop Grumman's talent pool. His 23 years of experience will serve the company well."
Ziskin is currently responsible for building and leading companywide human resources initiatives including strategy, leadership and executive development, and succession planning/talent management.
Prior to his joining Northrop Grumman in 2003, Ziskin served as executive vice president and chief human resources officer for Qwest Communications and as president and founder of Executive Excellence Group, a firm devoted to building executive and organizational credibility. Before that he worked for 18 years with TRW Inc. His experience includes the aerospace, automotive, electronic components, information services and telecommunications industries, in both service and manufacturing environments. He also led large-scale organizational changes, including major acquisition integrations.
Ziskin earned a bachelor's degree in management from Binghamton University and a master's degree in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.
Hateley will retire after 30 years of service, during which the company integrated thousands of employees as part of an aggressive 12-year acquisition strategy.
