ATLANTA, Nov. 3, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Delta Air Lines today reported traffic results for October 2005(1),(2). System traffic for October 2005 decreased 2.3 percent from October 2004 on a marginal capacity increase. Delta's system load factor was 72.4 percent in October 2005, down 1.7 points from the same period last year.
Domestic traffic in October 2005 decreased 5.3 percent year over year, and capacity decreased 2.9 percent. Domestic load factor in October 2005 was 71.3 percent, down 1.8 points from the same period a year ago. International traffic in October 2005 increased 8.5 percent year over year on an 11.4 percent increase in capacity. International load factor was 76.1 percent, down 2.0 points from October 2004.
During October 2005, Delta operated its schedule at a 96.9 percent completion rate, compared to 99.5 percent in October 2004. Delta boarded 9,274,758 passengers during the month of October 2005, a decrease of 9.5 percent from October 2004. Detailed traffic and capacity are attached.
