International Buyer Symposium Highlights Acquisition Opportunities for European Investors

RSM EquiCo to address legal and financial considerations related to cross-border mergers and acquisitions in Frankfurt Symposium; Includes Speakers from the U.S. Embassy-Berlin, KSB Group, Deutsche Beteiligungs AG and Others


COSTA MESA, Calif., Nov. 7, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Global investment bank RSM EquiCo will host its sixth annual International Buyer Symposium, which will focus on a variety of issues associated with cross-border middle-market acquisitions.

The full-day conference, held exclusively for senior executives with German corporations and private equity groups, will take place on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof in Frankfurt, Germany.

"Increasingly, European firms are expanding through overseas mergers and acquisitions -- both to stay competitive in their industries and to accelerate growth," said Jean Cayanni, senior managing director of global relations for RSM EquiCo. "This symposium will address relevant M&A concerns such as current market conditions, while providing a unique forum for RSM EquiCo to present specific North American middle-market acquisition opportunities to European buyers interested in establishing a strategic presence in the United States."

The event will be co-hosted by RSM Haarmann Hemmelrath, an international audit and consulting firm based in Germany. Panel discussions will feature topics ranging from North American cross-border M&A opportunities and legal perspectives to acquisition funding and financial and tax considerations.

Robert F. Cekuta, Minister-Counselor of Economic Affairs for the United Sates Embassy, Berlin, will serve as keynote speaker. The keynote panel will include representatives from:


  --  KSB Group, a manufacturer of pumps, valves and hydraulic
      systems for water supply and drainage.  The KSB Group
      directly employs 12,000 professionals internationally in
      building services, industry and water utilities, the energy
      sector and mining. The company boasts an annual turnover of
      approximately (1200 million.
  --  Deutsche Beteiligungs AG, a publicly-listed private equity
      firm. With a track record of 40 years, it is the oldest
