Harsco Makes Executive Appointments for Global Information Technology and Tax Management


HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 10, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Worldwide industrial services and products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today the appointment of two senior executives in the areas of Information Technology (IT) and tax management to support Harsco's strategic business goals and continuing worldwide expansion.

Scott H. Gerson has joined the Company as Vice President -- Information Technology, having executive responsibilities for advancing the Company's global resources for providing timely and accurate management information. Since his arrival, Mr. Gerson has been leading an organization-wide restructuring of IT functions and systems to provide enhanced Economic Value Added-generating (EVA(r)) support to the Company. Prior to joining Harsco, Mr. Gerson was with Kulicke & Soffa Industries, Inc., where he served as IT director of their worldwide application services and held responsibilities for IT systems strategy. Mr. Gerson has also served in IT management capacities with Compaq Computers and TRW. He holds an Engineering degree from Iowa State University and has completed extensive coursework in business administration at the graduate level.

Michael H. Kolinsky has joined the Company in the position of Vice President -- Taxes, providing focused executive management direction to the Company's global tax responsibilities and organization. Mr. Kolinsky comes to Harsco from Ernst & Young, Philadelphia, where he served as tax executive on a number of multi-national and middle-market accounts. He holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Temple University and a Masters of Taxation from Villanova University. He is also a CPA.
