ACS Appoints Moore President; Change Underscores Market Initiatives

ATLANTA, Nov. 14, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- David L. Moore has been named President and Chief Operating Officer for Advanced Control Systems (ACS), the long-standing industry leader in distribution management and substation automation. This election is the third significant personnel move for the company in recent weeks, quickly following the appointments of strategic accounts Sales Directors Stephen J. Powers and David Farris. Together, the three initiatives emphasize the company's expanding presence in outage management, substation automation and utility enterprise information systems.

In his new position, Mr. Moore will head up an experienced management team dedicated to strong growth and technological superiority in utility information systems. All business units and operating departments will report to his office. Founder and CEO John M. Muench elaborated, "Today's utility thrives on information. Whether it's been SCADA, DMS or RTUs, or our more recent expansion into automation and outage, we've always leveraged technology to provide the highest level of open-systems data and analysis possible. In giving Dave across-the-board responsibilities for managing ACS, we are streamlining our operation and positioning the company for continued market-driven growth."

Moore joined the company in 1993 as Vice President of Operations, and helped Muench guide the company through a period of rapid expansion, including commissioning of the industry's first open-architecture energy management system (Southwestern Power Administration). During the same period, ACS was at the forefront of advances in DNP communications, a position that led to the first full master-RTU DNP implementation in 1997. Mr. Moore also spearheaded the company's groundbreaking DA/DSM efforts for Taiwan Power, Jordanian Electric Power Company and Barbados Light & Power. Most recently, his work has been indispensable in the development and marketing of PRISM Real-Time OMS, the first outage management system that works directly with SCADA telemetry to provide up-to-the-minute information for management, operations, work crews and call centers.
