NEW YORK, Nov. 17, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Delta Shuttle customers flying between New York LaGuardia, Boston Logan International and Washington Reagan National airports now can choose from more seats than any other shuttle product in popular Northeast business markets with the introduction of nine MD-88 aircraft. Additionally, Delta Connection carrier Comair is now offering customers more flights linking New York John F. Kennedy International Airport and Boston Logan's Airport Terminal A with bi-hourly service. The Big Apple to Beantown connection will offer customers over 40 daily flights with 2,500 seats.
"We're expanding the number of seats we offer and the number of flight options in popular Northeast business markets because our customers want more Delta options," said Paul Matsen, Delta's Chief Marketing Officer. "New York City represents a cornerstone in Delta's Northeast service, and we're continually reviewing ways to improve our product offering there to make Delta the customers choice for air travel."
Today, the Delta Shuttle MD-88s will fly in a 142-seat, two-class configuration replacing the 120 seats offered on the Boeing 737. The Delta Shuttle MD-88s will promptly be re-configured into more spacious, one-class cabins with 134 seats featuring Delta's new comfortable cabin interior design of brighter interiors and new, stylish leather seats.
Delta Shuttle customers enjoy convenient services, including:
-- 62 total flights from early morning to late evening
on non-holiday weekdays;
-- rear-aircraft deplaning for quick access to ground
transportation;
-- complimentary on-board snacks, wine and beer;
-- open seating; and
-- complimentary newspapers and magazines.
Additionally, Delta's bi-hourly Delta Connection carrier service between JFK and Boston's Logan Airport offers customers added choice when traveling between The Big Apple and Beantown. Customers traveling to/from Boston will experience:
-- Delta's new Boston Terminal A with easiest entry/exit
from local freeways
-- Seven-minute travel time between downtown Boston and
Terminal A
-- 26 daily connecting opportunities from JFK to Caribbean,
European and Latin American destinations on Delta and
Delta's worldwide partners
-- Delta Connection flights offering a selection of beverage
and light snacks
-- New state-of-the-art Canadair Regional Jets, where there
is never a middle seat
Additionally, Delta recently announced that Delta Connection carrier Comair will begin frequent service between Boston and Baltimore-Washington International Airport starting Dec. 1.
