In its report on American Express, The Bull Market Report wrote: "There are a couple of important points to note on the bankruptcy news. The first (and this was a point the firm emphasized during its Q3 conference call) is that the company accounts for bankruptcies as soon as it receives notice of a valid filing. Most of the company's competitors wait 10-75 days, meaning there can be ongoing fallout from bankruptcies among competitors. (American Express CEO) Chenault reiterated that most of the bankruptcies would be accounted for in the current quarter and not drag into Q106. This means that the benefit of a normalization in bankruptcy filing rates will show up in the company's results sooner than for its peers."

In its coverage, The Bull Market Report looked at the following topics, among many others:

-- Will CEO Ed Breen be able to successfully unlock value at Tyco?

-- By maintaining high underwriting standards can AIG continue to climb out from its scandal-induced depths?

-- Will AmeriGas Partners be able to navigate unpredictable weather and propane prices?

-- Did the market overreact to the American Express warning?
