NEW YORK, Nov. 17, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- JetBlue Airways Corp. (Nasdaq:JBLU) today began daily nonstop service from Newark to San Juan, Puerto Rico, the sixth nonstop destination from Newark since the low-fare airline started operations Oct. 5, 2005. JetBlue now has 16 daily departures from Newark to: Fort Lauderdale; Fort Myers; Orlando; San Juan, PR; Tampa; and West Palm Beach.

JetBlue is offering an introductory fare starting at $59(a) each way. This fare must be purchased by Dec. 15, 2005.

JetBlue celebrated the start of new Newark service by announcing new sponsorships with KaBOOM!, the Newark Museum, and the Hispanic Heritage Committee of Newark. In addition to JetBlue's corporate sponsorships, JetBlue President Dave Barger is a founding board chair of the Community League, a new non-profit in partnership with the Learning to Give organization, supporting the Newark community.

"We want to do more than provide great service at low fares," said Gina Rauscher, JetBlue's manager of community relations. "We want to show our support to the communities that we are honored to serve, and our partners in Newark are making great things happen for the city."

KaBOOM! is a national nonprofit organization that envisions a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America. As part of JetBlue's sponsorship, more than 100 JetBlue crewmembers will help build a playground in Newark in 2006.

"The same way JetBlue helps countless travelers connect with friends and family each day, this playground will allow hundreds of children in Newark to come together to laugh, play and imagine the possibilities. KaBOOM! is extremely proud to partner with JetBlue, the airline that made flying enjoyable again," said Sarah Pinsky, Communications Director, KaBOOM!

JetBlue is also sponsoring the Hispanic Heritage Committee of Newark, which organizes festivals and events that celebrate the Hispanic culture.

Jeannette Ramos, Deputy Mayor of the City of Newark and President of the Hispanic Heritage Committee of Newark states, "I would like to take this opportunity to welcome JetBlue Airways to the City of Newark. The Hispanic community in our area has more options in traveling to Puerto Rico from Newark Liberty International Airport. JetBlue, an airline who is renowned for its high level of service, is a welcome asset to our community. I am proud that this company has also taken the initiative to support programs that are sponsored by the Hispanic Heritage Committee to promote and celebrate Hispanic culture in our city. I wish the airline Mucha Suerte!" (Good Luck).

JetBlue's sponsorship with the Newark Museum, the largest museum complex in New Jersey with 80 galleries, includes enabling special events and working with the museum on a developmental basis.

"JetBlue's arrival in Newark makes our city and this region even more accessible. As one of New Jersey's premier cultural attractions The Newark Museum is delighted to partner with JetBlue in our ongoing collaborative effort to serve visitors and domestic residents alike," said Museum Director Mary Sue Sweeney Price.
