HOUSTON, Nov. 21, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY), North America's largest foodservice marketer and distributor, announced today that K. Susan Billiot has been appointed vice president of human resources. Mrs. Billiot, who currently serves as assistant vice president, human resources, will assume her new role January 1, 2006.
Mrs. Billiot began her SYSCO career in 1999 as director of human resources and compensation. She was appointed to assistant vice president, human resources, in 2001. In her expanded role, Mrs. Billiot will provide human resources support in the areas of staffing, compensation, equal employment opportunity, work climate assessment, compliance and employee relations to SYSCO's corporate office, as well as assistance to SYSCO's 161 distribution locations and their associates. She will also continue to provide full human resources support to SYSCO's specialty companies.
Mrs. Billiot is a native of Clover, South Carolina. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, located in Columbia, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration in 1993 and a master of human resources degree in 1994. She and her husband, Harry, reside in Katy, Texas.
