GREENSBORO, N.C., Nov. 29, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Underscoring its commitment to progressive youth culture, Jump(tm) Mobile, a low-cost prepaid wireless service provider for the mobile-dependent, urban youth market, today announced that it is hosting a local visual art exhibit opening on Sunday, December 4, 2005 in Greensboro, NC.

Open to the public for free, the art exhibit will feature a variety of local Greensboro visual artists and their works, including Crystal Ari, Clement, Erica Lanier, Gary Higgins, Josephus Thompson, and Emmett Williams. In addition, the art opening will include a special appearance and art by SAGA ONE. The all-ages event takes place between 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4 at the Renaissance Jazz Cafe, which is located at 117 N. Greene St. in Greensboro.

"We believe that it is important to support local art and culture in the markets where we offer our pre-paid wireless service," said Jamie Amerson, District Director of Jump Mobile. "There are a variety of visual artists in the Greensboro area who produce unique and impacting works of art which deserve to be on display for the public. Our sponsorship of the upcoming art opening and other cultural events is a testament to our commitment to making Greensboro culture a top priority. We look forward to sponsoring more events similar to this in the future and giving local artists -- visual, musical, written and spoken -- the opportunity to showcase their talents."

In addition to the art show, Jump Mobile in association with The Collective, will host a poetry and music event following the art opening. The poetry and music event, which will be hosted by B Star and Soultry, will be held upstairs at the Renaissance Jazz Cafe beginning at 9:00 p.m. The event, which is $7 for admission, is open to individuals 21 years of age or older.
