(OTCBB:ADZR) today reported that a Dulles, Virginia-based realty group has become the first community sponsor of its recently launched Online Predator Profiling System (OPPS) on behalf of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, which serves and protects the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C.
Sponsoring the program is realtor Paul Bedewi, who directs the operations of The Bedewi Group/ReMax Premier.
As reported in a news feature on the OPPS program last week in the Loudoun Times-Mirror, "The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, which is actively involved in Internet monitoring, is interested in OPPS, said spokesman Kraig Troxell. Right now, Loudoun County's main tool for that purpose is getting people to pose as minors to lure predators."
"As a result of Mr. Bedewi's support, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office now has the resources to begin conducting a state-of-the-art monitoring system to track predators," said AdZone Research President & COO John A. Cardona.
OPPS is an around-the-clock tracking, storage, and data retrieval system of dozens of online chat rooms that the company has been specifically directed to monitor, by recognized law enforcement personnel, in an effort to profile online sexual predators. The first OPPS module has data going back as far as May 2005 right up to the present. This information comprises the specific text, by user name, by chat room, by date, and by time of day.
When officers identify a suspicious person, they can follow that person's archived chat room comments and can then see who the person has talked to, what types of room he or she has been in, and what has been said. When enough evidence is collected about a certain screen name, police can track down the user through his or her Internet service provider and further investigate or take disciplinary action as necessary.
"The fee per investigator is $999 for one year," Cardona said, noting, "a police department that wants it does not necessarily have to buy it.
