Roy Jacobs & Associates Announces the Filing of a Class Action Lawsuit Brought on Behalf of EVCI Career Colleges Holdings Corp. Purchasers -- EVCI

NEW YORK, Dec. 9, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Roy Jacobs & Associates has filed a class action lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on behalf of all persons who purchased EVCI Career Colleges Holdings Corp. common stock or other securities during the period from February 23, 2004 to October 20, 2005 (the "Class Period"). The lawsuit was filed against EVCI Career Holdings Corp. ("EVCI" or "the Company") (Nasdaq:EVCI), and its top executives, and alleges fraud involving statements made to public investors. The case has been assigned to the Hon. Charles Brieant.

For further information you may call toll free, 888-884-4490, or contact counsel by e-mail by writing to classattorney@pipeline.com.

The Complaint alleges that, during the Class Period, EVCI omitted and misrepresented material facts concerning the manner in which its educational business was being run, including facts concerning the degree of student support it provided, its admission practices and its graduation rates. EVCI's practices have led to criticism by the New York State Education Department, and adverse action which, when revealed, led to sharp declines in the price of the stock.

If you purchased EVCI securities during the Class Period, you may qualify to serve as Lead Plaintiff on behalf of the Class, which consists of all persons and entities who purchased EVCI securities from February 23, 2004 to October 20, 2005. You are not required to have sold your EVCI securities in order to claim damages, or to serve in this role. All motions for appointment as Lead Plaintiff must be filed with the Court no later than February 6, 2006.

Please feel free to contact Roy L. Jacobs, Esq. to discuss the pending action, and your rights in this matter.
