Marco's Pizza to Offer Electronic Gift Cards

Ideal for College Students, Family and Friends; Cashless Pizza Purchases

TOLEDO, Ohio, Dec. 15, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Marco's Pizza, the 27-year-old 145-unit chain founded here by Italian native Pasquale "Pat" Giammarco, will offer consumers electronic gift cards good at any of the Marco's Pizzas in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada and Arizona.

Jack Butorac, Jr., president of Marco's Franchising, who acquired the franchising rights to the company from Giammarco last year, announced the gift program.

According to Butorac, the electronic gift card program will be rolled out among the Marco's franchisees effective immediately.

"This program will allow us to access electronic payment networks with all the speed and efficiency of any retail purchase," Butorac said. "It is much more efficient than the old paper gift certificates. It is franchise friendly and consumer friendly."

Marco's Pizza offers consumers a variety of custom made Ah!Thentic Italian Pizzas, fresh baked subs, salads, chicken wings and soft drinks.

Marco's is expected to open a record 23 units this year and is on a plan to double the current number of units. Additional information is available at www.marcos.com or by emailing dallen@marcos.com
