HOUSTON, Dec. 19, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that Timothy D. Peterzen has been named executive vice president of Sysco Food Services of Minnesota, Inc., a SYSCO subsidiary located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Mr. Peterzen, who is currently senior vice president of that operation, will assume his new duties effective January 1, 2006.
Mr. Peterzen, 46, is a 25-year foodservice industry veteran. He began his career in 1980 as a sales representative with the Minneapolis division of CFS-Continental, a company SYSCO acquired in 1988 and renamed Sysco Food Services of Minnesota. He was promoted to district sales manager of the CFS operation in 1985, was named program sales manager in 1993 and then became director of program sales in 1995. Mr. Peterzen advanced to vice president of program sales in 1997 and on January 1, 2004 he was promoted to his current position.
Mr. Peterzen is a 1983 graduate of the University of Minnesota, located in Minneapolis, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He and his wife, Jacqueline, have two daughters and a son and reside in Ramsey, Minnesota.
