Northrop Grumman Receives Vulnerability System Task Order Under Air Force Network Centric Solutions Contract

MCLEAN, Va., Dec. 21, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) was awarded a task order under the Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) program to develop a vulnerability lifecycle management system for the U.S. Air Force. This system will standardize an enterprise-wide vulnerability management system to consolidate and integrate multiple asset and vulnerability solutions for the Air Force.

Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector will design and deploy the enterprise-wide system using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and U.S. Department of Defense and Air Force COTS software.

Additional work will include integration, testing and delivery of the vulnerability lifecycle management system which will be deployed to nearly 130 Air Force locations worldwide, following testing and evaluation of the vulnerability management system.

The vulnerability management system design provides consolidated vulnerability assessment and security patch remediation across the Air Force's classified and unclassified networks with built-in IT asset management and control features. The hierarchal management reporting and information sharing distribution system is capable of supporting current and future Air Force needs.

The system will also exchange network and security information with the Air Force Combat Information Transport System.

The task order is valued at approximately $14.5 million through July 2006.

The Air Force NETCENTS program is a five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to provide IT products and services. Northrop Grumman was awarded the NETCENTS contract in September 2004.
