Cotros Appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Sysco Food Services of Arkansas, LLC


HOUSTON, Jan. 3, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- SYSCO Corporation (NYSE:SYY) announced today that Harry C. Cotros has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Sysco Food Services of Arkansas, LLC, a broadline distribution subsidiary located in Little Rock. Mr. Cotros, who currently serves as executive vice president of SYSCO's broadline subsidiary in Houston, will assume his new position effective immediately. He succeeds Henry P. Jolly, who was named president and chief executive officer of Sysco Food Services of Kansas City (Olathe, KS) in an earlier announcement.

Mr. Cotros, 37, began his SYSCO career in 1991 as a marketing associate at Hardin's-Sysco Food Services, located in Memphis, Tennessee, before transferring to SYSCO's Orlando, Florida operation as district sales manager in 1994. In 1996 he joined SYSCO's West Coast Florida company in the same position and in 1998 progressed to regional vice president of sales for that company. In 1999 Mr. Cotros was promoted to vice president of territory sales at SYSCO's Houston subsidiary. He advanced to senior vice president of sales the following year and in 200l he was appointed to his current position.

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Mr. Cotros is a 1991 graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in business. He and his wife, Joelle, have three daughters and will relocate to the Arkansas area in the near future.
