Nationwide Custom Homes to Unveil Showcase Home at International Builders' Show

MARTINSVILLE, Va., Jan. 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nationwide Custom Homes, the South, Southeast and Mid-Atlantic's leader in system building, will be unveiling a 6,010 square foot custom home at the National Association of Home Builders' International Builders' Show(r)in Orlando, Florida, on January 11-14, 2006. Held at the Orange County Convention Center, the International Builders' Show is the largest in the world, with over 100,000 attendees and 1.5 million square feet of exhibition space.

This Nationwide show home was built to 80% completion in production facilities in Martinsville, Virginia. The onsite finish at the Orlando convention center was completed in 24 days. "This five bedroom, four bath highly customized home has a room for nearly everything," stated Donald Aheron, Engineering Manager for Nationwide. "A Florida room, a retreat area and a computer room are just some of the unexpected lifestyle spaces that make this an extremely comfortable home."

Nationwide's showcase home, "The Bonita," seamlessly blends traditional styling with the latest technological conveniences and the highest level of detailing and custom features available from premier suppliers. The cook's kitchen is designed with space to entertain in the midst of gourmet quality amenities. Coffered ceilings in the home office and family room, covered porches, chandeliers in the master bathroom and French pocket doors are reminiscent of the exquisite architecture of a Southern manor. The home's abundant amenities include a fireplace outfitted with a waterfall, a nursery wired with video cameras to the master bedroom flat screen television and a Florida room featuring a 10-person hot tub next to a wet bar. Pioneer 50-inch plasma televisions are thoughtfully positioned throughout the home.

"This home reflects today's upscale lifestyle with a speed and quality of construction that you cannot get in a site-built home," says Margie Lewis-Wright, Director of Design with Palm Harbor Homes.

"Builders find the flexibility of working with Nationwide very appealing. They are able to deal directly with us to design a home specifically for the needs of their customers," explained James Seekford, Vice President of the Builder Division for Nationwide. "This customization, coupled with our convenience and efficiency, is making systems building the fastest growing segment of the construction industry."

At the end of the International Builder show the show home will be sold to one of Nationwide's Authorized Builders. Excluding land the retail cost of the Bonita in the state of Florida will begin at $130.00 per square foot.
