A Pioneer in Electronic Medical Records, PatienTrak Applies its System to Missing Children and Person Identification

BOCA RATON, Fla., Jan. 9, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Electronic health record innovator, PatienTrak, has signed an exclusive agreement, with A Child Is Missing Alert (ACIM) program that will offer law enforcement, parents and families invaluable identification information in the event of a missing child or lost adult.

PatienTrak electronic medical record system will enhance their personal health record program by integrating A Child is Missing information requirements and photos into their tracking system. It will give law enforcement the information/description of the family, grandparents, and children and include photos of these individuals, making it easy for law enforcement to get the information to begin a missing person search. This is a first.

A Child Is Missing organization is a non-profit organization that assists law enforcement in the early search and recovery of missing children, the elderly (often with Alzheimer's), college students and disabled persons. This one-of-a-kind program offers local police departments a faster way to get a search underway with the use of a satellite tracking service that will immediately identify any and all suspicious areas, wooded areas, bodies of water, and other areas that could be used to hide children. A Child Is Missing is available nationwide. It is free to law enforcement and can deliver 1,000 calls per minute to residents and businesses in the immediate area with a description of the missing child or adult to increase the chances of identification and recovery. All response calls are directed to the local police offices and begin within the first 3 hours of reporting.

To date, ACIM has recovered 132 missing persons, including significant involvement in the recent recovery of the North Carolina teenager abducted by her uncle and captured by police officials in Orlando. "With the cooperation of U.S. Marshals Service, FDLE and local law enforcement A Child Is Missing was able to assist in the search of Sam Lively, who abducted a 13 year old child. The phone calls produced a lead that led to the recovery of the girl. We are very proud of this recovery and it marks our 132nd safe assisted recovery," stated founder Sherry Friedlander. "The alert system works!"

"The value of this service is priceless, stated Robbin Hunter, CEO of PatienTrak. "Especially if it supports the recovery of your family member."

PatienTrak offers the benefits of ACIM with their personal health record program.

According to Michael Wolff, President of PatienTrak, "The value of our product is enhanced greatly when benefits like ACIM are available with our program. We will continue to cultivate life-enhancing benefits to improve the quality and security of our members, along with our core mission, to provide immediate access to vital electronic medical record information. With the incorporation of this benefit into our new health record engine, PatienTrak can provide consumers and providers with a real time system that is unique in its market."

PatienTrak will release a nationwide version of its electronic medical record system in the 1st quarter of 2006, available to all physicians, emergency rooms, hospitals, health plans, insurance carriers, employers, and consumers in support of the national healthcare information infrastructure (NHII). PatienTrak will roll out their initial program in their home state of Florida, but all states and organizations are encouraged to participate.
