Phoenix Outdoor Names Jim Glaeser Executive Director

ASHEVILLE, N.C. and ATLANTA, Jan. 11, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Phoenix Outdoor announced today that Jim Glaeser has been named Executive Director for the company. In this capacity, Glaeser will oversee all field operations and clinical activities for the company, managing the North Carolina base camp and all affiliated personnel. Glaeser, who is currently serving as interim Vice President of Operations, will assume his new duties effective immediately. Phoenix Outdoor's wilderness treatment program provides comprehensive crisis intervention and assessment for families with teenagers ages 13-17.

"No other individual in the industry has the experience, management insight, and vision to lead our North Carolina organization the way Jim Glaeser can," said Carolyn Bradfield, CEO and founder of Phoenix Outdoor. "Jim's knowledge and insight into the dynamics of wilderness therapy will strengthen our core approach to treatment. His strong leadership frees up the rest of the corporate organization to focus on strategic marketing, program planning, and supporting the families involved in the program."

"My original charter when I came to Phoenix this fall was to focus on building the Company's operational systems for continued growth; however, I quickly recognized that Phoenix represented an opportunity for me to play a wider role and help drive fundamental change in the industry," said Glaeser. "The way our program impacts the entire family, not just the adolescent, is extremely powerful. Phoenix is changing lives; creating stronger families that are better able to work with their educational consultants to make the right long-term decision for their child. My goal is to take the best of what Phoenix embodies and work to lead the marketplace with innovation and compassionate support of the family."

Glaeser has a long track record in the wilderness industry, serving as a counselor and assistant director at SUWS of Idaho. He took the lead role in the start-up of SUWS of the Carolinas, as well as at Adirondack Leadership Expeditions, serving as Executive Director at both programs. He was also an active participant in the opening of Lone Star Expeditions.
