Emulex Enters Into Distribution Agreement with Ingram Micro

Deal Enables Delivery of More Integrated Solutions as Ingram Micro also Distributes Products from Emulex OEM Customers, Including Leading Server and Storage Providers

COSTA MESA, Calif., Jan. 16, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX), the most trusted name in storage networking connectivity, today announced that the company has entered into a multi-year distribution agreement with Ingram Micro, Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor. Ingram Micro, which is also a leading distributor of IBM and HP server solutions, will now offer the Emulex LightPulse(R) family of host bus adapters (HBAs) to its storage solution portfolio. As a result, reseller customers will be able to deploy server and storage systems more seamlessly and rapidly to meet end user demand.

"As the leading technology distributor, Ingram Micro is committed to delivering the best, most-reliable technology solutions for our solution provider and system integrator customers," said Jay Miley, vice president vendor management, Ingram Micro. "Emulex has proven its ability to deliver world-class SAN infrastructure solutions. This and the company's dedication to providing a channel friendly program makes this new offering a strategic component to our comprehensive storage solution offering."

This agreement is the latest achievement for the Emulex channel program. In its fiscal first quarter for 2006 (ending October 2, 2005), Emulex saw more than 40 percent of the company's revenue being derived from channel sales. Ingram Micro provides reach into a large spectrum of solution providers, integrators and direct marketers that provide storage networking solutions to a full range of customers.

"Ingram Micro has an excellent reputation as a distribution partner to the value added reseller and system integrator community. We are confident this relationship provides Emulex with a much broader customer reach by ensuring end users have easy access to the wide variety of Emulex-branded and OEM-qualified Fibre Channel SAN infrastructure solutions from qualified resellers," said Fred Gill, executive vice president of worldwide sales, Emulex. "Since Ingram Micro is also a leading distributor of servers and storage for Emulex's top customers, including IBM and HP, this deal allows Emulex to better leverage its existing OEM relationships to provide resellers with an opportunity to purchase integrated and bundled solutions from a single distribution partner."
