Gridline to Sponsor and Supply Connectivity to National Rural Electric Cooperative Association's NET Conference

SUGAR LAND, Texas, Jan. 17, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Gridline Communications Holdings Inc., a fully reporting public corporation, announced today that the company will be exhibiting at the NET -- News & Emerging Technologies Conference (the NET) to be held January 18-19 in Phoenix, AZ. In addition, Gridline will also be providing connectivity to the conference and its attendees, supplying high-speed Internet access via its Broadband over Powerline (BPL) technology.

The NET, an annual conference for America's electric cooperatives and their business customers is expected to attract 400-500 attendees. Organized by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), this year's conference focuses on exploring new trends in the electric utility industry and the electric cooperative network. As an exhibitor and technology supplier at the NET, Gridline Communications will increase its visibility with key decision-makers from hundreds of potential key customers in the U.S.

"The NET conference is the pre-eminent gathering of rural electric cooperatives in the United States. These utility companies are precisely the types of companies that we are now targeting in our efforts to roll out our Broadband over Powerline (BPL) technology domestically. And, by being the sole supplier of Internet access to the conference's attendees, we have the unique opportunity to have everyone at the show actually see Gridline's BPL technology in operation. We could not ask for a better group to present to," states Blaize Kaduru, CEO of Gridline Communications Holdings, Inc.

"We have already begun making significant inroads to introduce our technology to other parts of the world, but we also understand that there is a very large untapped market right here in the U.S. Currently there are tens of millions of individuals that because of their location outside of major towns and cities are unable to gain affordable high-speed Internet access. It is just too expensive for traditional ISPs, telephone and cable companies to build the necessary infrastructure to serve these people. But by partnering with utility companies and electric co-ops, Gridline can for the first time begin offering a truly cost-effective, reliable solution to rural America," states Terry Dillon, COO/CTO of Gridline Communications Holdings, Inc.

About Broadband over Powerline (BPL)

BPL technology provides high-speed broadband connectivity over power lines to businesses, organizations, institutions and homes at speeds up to 100Mbps full-duplex, for connecting to a variety of services and applications through the existing electrical outlets. BPL provides bandwidth speeds far in excess of what is available with current technologies such as DSL or cable modem. Gridline is now developing joint ventures and strategic alliances, such as the ISTEC alliance, to deliver this technology throughout the U.S. and international markets worldwide.

About The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association is the national service organization that represents the nation's more than 900 private, not-for-profit, consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide electric service over 2.2 million miles of lines to more than 37 million people in 47 states, comprising 75% of the U.S. land mass. American cooperatives currently own $60 billion in generation, transmission and distribution assets.
