Metaline Contact Mines: Amazing Underground Film of a Production Round Being Exploded at Golden Chest Mine

MURRAY, Idaho, Jan. 18, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Metaline Contact Mines (OTCBB:MTLI) is pleased to provide some incredible, rarely seen film footage of a production round being detonated underground in its Golden Chest Mine near Murray, Idaho.

The blast shot may be viewed by clicking on the "Media" section in the Company's website at www.metalinecontactmines.com.

The footage was filmed by and provided courtesy of NFL Films(R), who placed a specially protected camera underground in the mine during their filming of "Silver and Gold(C)", which was aired last September on ESPN, ESPN2, and the NFL Network.

The Golden Chest Mine is leased to and operated by New Jersey Mining Company (OTCBB:NJMC), who successfully placed the historic mine into the commercial production of gold last year.

In other news, Mine Systems Design Inc. of Kellogg, Idaho, has been retained to conduct a preliminary evaluation of the data generated during Teck Cominco's 2005 drilling program on the "Washington Rock" and "West Riverside" areas of the Company's Pend Oreille/Metaline Zinc Mines mineral holdings near Metaline Falls, Washington. Teck Cominco American is exploring for zinc and lead on the Company's sizeable holdings.

Metaline Contact Mines develops and acquires royalty interests in mineral properties and projects of unusual merit, including its Golden Chest Mine (gold) and its Pend Oreille/Metaline Zinc Mines (zinc & lead).
