Delta Says 'Bienvenue' to 'Louvre Atlanta' As a Lead Corporate Partner of High Museum and Musee Du Louvre Exhibition Series

Unprecedented Partnership Brings Hundreds of International Masterpieces to Art Lovers throughout the U.S. Southeast

ATLANTA, Jan. 19, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Delta Air Lines, the Official Airline of the High Museum of Art, is proud to be a lead corporate partner of "Louvre Atlanta," a three-year partnership between the High Museum of Art in Atlanta and the Musee du Louvre in Paris, with an exhibition series beginning October 2006.

"Delta is thrilled to be part of this amazing series of art exhibitions that, for the first time ever, will bring internationally renowned works of art to Atlanta so art lovers throughout the Southeast can experience and enjoy the masterpieces of the Louvre," said Lee Macenczak, Delta's chief customer service officer and a member of the High Museum board of directors. "As Atlanta's hometown airline, and an active and committed partner in cultural and community events, we are pleased to serve as a lead corporate partner of this unprecedented and remarkable partnership which will be of great interest to our customers and employees throughout the world."

Throughout the three-year partnership, "Louvre Atlanta" will feature a total of nine exhibitions in the High's new Anne Cox Chambers wing, which will be devoted exclusively to "Louvre Atlanta." Masterpieces included in the first year central exhibition, "Kings as Collectors" include Raphael's "Portrait of Baldassare Castiglione" and Nicolas Poussin's "Et in Arcadia Ego."

In addition to long-term thematic exhibitions, "Louvre Atlanta" will also offer educational, curatorial and strategic exchanges. The collaboration will encompass the joint development of educational programs, publications, symposia and films exploring exhibitions and related themes.

Over the next three years, Delta and Delta Air Logistics will take advantage of the airline's extensive international route network to provide air travel and cargo support for the "Louvre Atlanta" project.

Delta is well-suited to provide this support, having a two-decade long relationship with the Paris community when it began flying to Paris more than 20 years ago with nonstop service to Orly Airport. Today, Delta offers the most flights to France of any U.S. carrier, with seven daily flights from the airline's three hubs in Atlanta, New York's John F. Kennedy Airport and Cincinnati. In conjunction with SkyTeam partner Air France, Delta offers service to dozens of destinations in France.

Delta and the High Museum have enjoyed an eight-year partnership through which Delta's contributions have helped the High Museum grow into the leading art museum in the Southeast United States.
