Kronos Expands Intellectual Property Platform

Company Receives Ninth U.S. Patent for Method That Increases Air Flow Rate and Efficiencies

BELMONT, Mass., Jan. 31, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Kronos Advanced Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:KNOS) today announced that Kronos Air Technologies, Inc., a developer of air movement and purification technologies and wholly-owned subsidiary, has received Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a patent application, Multi-Stage Electrostatic Fluid Accelerator Synchronization. The patent protects the Company's ability to synchronize multiple electrical arrays, which enables air movement and purification applications powered by the Kronos technology to provide increased air flow rates and air flow efficiency.

Among the current products that leverage this specific patent include the Kronos air movers developed under contract with the U.S. Navy. The most recent generation of Kronos air movers is being evaluated by Northrop Grumman. These air movers provide up to 1,700 feet per minute of efficient, silent air flow.

"We believe Kronos is the leader in intellectual property for developing commercially viable applications of corona discharge and ion generation devices," commented Chief Technology Officer Dr. Igor Krichtafovitch. "Securing our most recent patent to meet the need for a practical electrostatic fluid accelerator capable of producing commercially useful flow rates is but one example of our focus on developing our intellectual property to meet the demands of the marketplace."

To date, Kronos has been awarded nine U.S. and two international patents and has additional U.S. patents pending in addition to other patent applications in various stages of the patent process either internally or with patent counsel. Kronos' intellectual property platform covers a broad range of patent claims, including high voltage management, material science and geometries. These claims provide patent protection on a wide variety of applications that Kronos is pursuing or considering pursuing with various strategic partners in residential, commercial, industrial and military markets. Applications include but are not limited to:

 -- air movement, including dielectric fluid movement
    and propulsion;
 -- air purification, including particulate removal,
    biohazard destruction, chemical and industrial gas
    treatment, and odor removal;
 -- temperature and environmental management, including
    space heating and cooling;
 -- air management, including sorting and separation
    of air streams by particle content;
 -- sound generation, including flat panel stereo speakers
    and active noise cancellation;
 -- high voltage management, including development of
    high voltage power supplies and control of power plant
    energy surges and electrical  discharges;
 -- control of water and moisture content in air streams,
    including humidification; and
 -- water treatment, including water purification,
    ionization and water desalination.

"While we remain focused on prioritizing our resources to develop and license our proprietary technology for air movement and purification applications which address the multi-billion dollar indoor air quality market, we will continue to extend our intellectual property platform through the attainment of additional patent claims," stated President and Chief Executive Officer Daniel R. Dwight. "Our objective is to obtain sustainable growth by continuing to develop new and innovative applications of our patented technology to meet customer needs in multiple global markets and industries."
