Photo Release -- Northrop Grumman Names Kathleen M. Thomas Vice President, Learning and Development


LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has appointed Kathleen M. Thomas vice president, learning and development, effective immediately. She will report to Ian V. Ziskin, corporate vice president and chief human resources and administrative officer.

In this role, Thomas will work closely with all Northrop Grumman sectors to set the strategic agenda for developing and implementing the company's global talent management and people development processes and programs.

Thomas will be responsible for employee and executive development, performance management, strategic talent management and human capital strategy. She will manage the corporate learning and development organization and will have functional oversight for the learning and development organizations at each of the company's sectors. She also will chair the company's learning and development council, the principal governance body for enterprise learning and development strategies, solutions and systems.

Joining Northrop Grumman in 1998 as director, leadership and organization development for the Newport News sector, Thomas was responsible for leadership development, succession planning and ethics and business conduct. Her experience spans more than 15 years in senior human resource development positions in the electric utility and financial services industries.

Thomas earned a bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College and a master's degree in human resource development from George Washington University.
