TANDBERG Integrates Video with IBM Lotus Sametime and IBM Lotus Notes and Domino to Increase Collaboration

Integration Leverages Existing IT Investments; Makes Video More Accessible and Easy-to-Use

HONG KONG, Feb. 2, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- TANDBERG(R), a global leader in visual communication (OSLO:TAA), introduces the integration of business-quality video with IBM(R) Lotus(R) Sametime(R) and IBM Lotus Notes(R) and Domino(R). The solution is the next step in the evolution of workplace productivity and is a user-friendly tool for increasing face-to-face collaboration.

TANDBERG integration with Lotus Sametime enables users of the popular IBM collaboration environment to search for video systems and launch ad hoc video calls from any video unit managed by the TANDBERG Management Suite (TMS). The user interface for escalating IM to video is exactly the same as for escalating IM to audio. While having an IM chat with a co-worker, a user can simply initiate a video call with a single click.

Lotus Notes and Domino integration enables the scheduling of video calls through the familiar IBM tool, further enhancing the convenience of staying connected each day.

"IBM and TANDBERG have both been leaders in the drive toward a seamless, integrated and real-time collaborative environment," said Fredrik Halvorsen, TANDBERG chief executive officer. "IBM's market strength and innovative approach to collaboration will foster more widespread adoption of business-quality video among organizations seeking to become more efficient, productive and competitive."

"As the leading provider of enterprise collaboration solutions, we are constantly looking for new ways to help our customers increase productivity," said Ken Bisconti, vice president, Workplace, Portal and collaboration products, IBM. "Now, businesses using Lotus Sametime will be able to extend the value of their existing infrastructure and promote their overall organizational productivity by enabling an end user to easily upgrade an instant messaging session into a full video call managed by the Tandberg Management Suite,"

TANDBERG's complete end-to-end solution, which includes a management system, infrastructure components and video units for any workspace, supports the integration with Lotus Sametime and Lotus Notes and Domino. The solution will be demonstrated beginning today at Lotusphere(R) 2006, Jan. 22-26, at the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, FL.

TMS featuring the new integration and software upgrades for current TMS users will be available in Q1.
