British Airways Extends 'London For Free' Holiday Sale

British Airways' 'London for Free' Offers Two Free Nights in London Plus Roundtrip Club World Special for $2,996 from New York


NEW YORK, Feb. 2, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Travellers looking to really stretch their travel dollars this month should search no further than British Airways. Today the airline announced the extension of "London for Free," the popular program that offers two free nights' hotel accommodations in central London when purchasing round-trip airfares between the United States and London or any other British Airways worldwide destination.

And adding a new dimension to 'London For Free,' British Airways is now offering a special Club World roundtrip fare of $2,996 to London from New York plus comparable fares from other USA gateways. The Club World fare has no advance purchase requirement and is comparable to full fare business class. The Club World airfare is combined with two free hotel nights at the five-star London Marriott County Hall located on the Thames adjacent to Westminster Bridge.

Economy class airfares begin at $298 roundtrip between New York's JFK or Newark airports and London's Heathrow. Sample round trip economy airfares to other destinations from New York include:

Travellers who register and book at ba.com may save an additional $20 during this promotion. 'London For Free' must be purchased by Thursday, Feb 9, 2006. Travel is valid through April 2, 2006, except for India when travel is valid through June 30, 2006. Travel from Canada to London is valid through April 4, 2006.

The two free hotel nights, using economy travel, are available at a selection of three- and four-star hotels for travel through Aug. 31, 2006, when higher fares may apply. London hotels participating in "London For Free" include Royal National, Paddington Court, Hyde Park, Comfort Inn Kensington, Mostyn, Jurys Inn Chelsea, Corus Hyde Park, Rembrandt, Thistle Barbican, Shaftesbury Kensington, Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt. The two free hotel nights are based on double occupancy; single occupants are offered one free hotel night.

"London for Free" travellers also have the option to upgrade their round trip air travel to World Traveller Plus, British Airways' premiere economy class, and still take advantage of the two free nights at a three or four-star hotel. The World Traveller Plus round-trip add-on ranges from $200 to $254 for travel between any USA gateway and London.

Economy and World Traveller Plus airfares are based on round-trip, advance purchase, non-refundable, select economy class midweek (Mon.-Wed) fares for travel until April 2, 2006, except to India, which is available through June 30, 2006. Fares may be higher for other travel dates from other US departure gateways and to other worldwide destinations. There is no advance purchase requirement when purchasing the Club World roundtrip fares.

The $20 discount is available only at ba.com when logging in and booking 'London For Free.' Weekend (Thurs.-Sun.) surcharge is $30 each way. Fares are subject to government approval and do not include government fees and taxes ranging from approximately $110 to $149 and a $2.50 September 11th Security Fee. The minimum stay is one Saturday night; maximum stay is 11 months.

Hotel rooms must be purchased by Feb. 9, 2006, in conjunction with round-trip published airfare on British Airways, for travel through Aug. 31, 2006. Accommodation is based on double occupancy taken on two consecutive nights; singles are entitled to one free hotel night only. Other significant restrictions apply.
