PhotoSite Lets Members Easily Share and Search Albums With New Album Gallery Feature

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Feb. 7, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Online photo-sharing service PhotoSite announced today that it has launched the PhotoSite Album Gallery, a new feature that allows members to make their online albums searchable and viewable by anyone who visits the site. Members can decide which of their albums to add to the Album Gallery. Previously, PhotoSite members could email a link to their PhotoSite so that friends could view their albums, but otherwise, albums were not easily accessible for public viewing.

"Giving our members the ability to easily share and search albums online is a great way for us to build the PhotoSite community and create connections between our members," said Heidi Gibson, PhotoSite vice president. "Our members have posted a huge number of great albums covering a wide range of topics and now they'll have a way to be a part of something larger by showcasing their photos alongside thousands of others."

Both free and paid PhotoSite members can add their albums to the Album Gallery. To do so, they log onto their account, click the "Edit Albums" button, and select the category and sub-category that best captures the subject of the album they'd like to add. After inserting a few keywords to help identify the album during potential searches, the member clicks, "Save" and their album is added to the Album Gallery. Members can also enter this information when they create their album, with PhotoSite's AlbumBuilder software or online.

Anyone can access the Album Gallery by going to www.PhotoSite.com. A list of searchable album categories runs down the right hand side of the page while a row of "featured albums", albums picked by the PhotoSite staff for special display on the site, occupies the bottom of the home page. Users can search the Album Gallery by selecting one of the album categories or by entering keywords into a "Search" field in the upper right hand side of the page.

PhotoSite enables its members (free and paid) to quickly and easily upload photos, edit them with an assortment of tools including cropping and color management, and arrange them into albums to share online with their friends. Free members can upload a maximum of 100 photos. In addition to increasing the number of photos that can be uploaded, the three PhotoSite paid memberships include access to premium album layouts and headers. With the PhotoSite Unlimited Plus plan members also receive a personalized top-level Web domain. PhotoSite members can also purchase prints at 29 cents for a 4x6 and $3.79 for an 8x10. Mugs and other photo gifts are also available for purchase.
