phoenix-X-Ray Introduces New Revolutionary X-Ray Inspection System with 180 kV High-Power Nanofocus Technology and 4 Megapixel-Detector

ANAHEIM, Calif., Feb. 8, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- phoenix-x-ray Systems + Services Inc., innovator of the first commercially available nanofocus x-ray system and first fully automated failure analysis system, today at APEX introduced to the North American market the nanome-x with a 180 kV high-power nanofocus(tm) X-ray tube and an advanced 4 Megapixel digital detector. A complete and working system is on display in the company's booth no. 2317 at APEX the rest of the week.

A downloadable 300dpi high-resolution photo of the nanome-x is available on the World Wide Web at http://www.seeyouinprint.com/phoenix/nanomex_shadow.jpg.

This combination of high powered nanofocus tube and high resolution imager lets the system penetrate dense, shielded components in particular for the inspection of micro electronic components like CSPs, microBGAs, flip chips etc. used in automotive and military electronics. Magnification of greater than 20.000x can be achieved with the nanome-x system.

The 180 kV high power nanofocus(tm) X-ray tube is the latest X-ray tube development of the market leader phoenix-x-ray. The high resolution source is in particular useful for 3D computed tomography and 2D inspection using 70 degree OVHM (oblique viewing at highest magnification) technology.

The system comes standard with phoenix-x-ray's latest software package that greatly improves the ease of use of the system. This intuitive software includes the first image editing software with an algorithm tool box that improves the automatic measurements and image analysis. By adding a number of software modules, the nanome-x 180 kV can automate the inspection of BGAs, QFPs, PTHs, MLFs, bond wires, die-attaches, and multilayer boards, providing AXI test capabilities at FA pricing.

Prices for the new nanome-x 180 kV start at $200,000 for a comprehensive 2D inspection solution and $350,000 for a 3D high resolution X-ray inspection. Delivery is approximately 8 weeks ARO.
