Photo Release -- Northrop Grumman Names Chineta Davis Vice President of MESA Radar Programs for Electronic Systems Sector


BALTIMORE, Feb. 16, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has appointed Chineta K. Davis, vice president, Multi-role Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) Programs for the company's Electronic Systems sector.

Davis will have responsibility for successfully executing the MESA radar programs, including the Australian Wedgetail and Turkey Peace Eagle programs, as well as future MESA business opportunities.

MESA builds on the company's expertise acquired from the AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) to bring military airborne surveillance capabilities to mid-size Boeing 737 aircraft. MESA enables sophisticated air-to-air and maritime coverage and integrated identification of friend-or-foe systems.

Previously, Davis was vice president of the company's Norden Systems business unit based in Norwalk, Conn. Davis joined Northrop Grumman in 1976 and has held a variety of professional and management positions of increasing responsibility in operations and programs. In 1999, she was appointed director, integrated enterprise visibility, and in 2001 she was named director, program quality assurance and subsequently served as director, production transition, in the company's airborne surveillance systems business unit. She later served as director, strategic sourcing, for the procurement and materials management organization.

Davis received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and has completed the Executive Marketing Program at UCLA and the General Manager's Program at Harvard University.
