STOXX, Ltd. Changes the Composition of the European Benchmark Indexes

First Regular Quarterly Review to be Effective on March 20, 2006


ZURICH, Switzerland, Feb. 21, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- STOXX, Ltd. today announced changes in the composition of the Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 Index, the Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index, the Dow Jones STOXX 600 Index and its sector indexes, the Dow Jones EU Enlarged Total Market Index and the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index.

Effective with the open of European markets on March 20, 2006 the following twelve stocks will be added to the Dow Jones STOXX 600 and its respective size and sector indexes: EDF (France, Utilities), PARMALAT (Italy, Food & Beverage), RHODIA (France, Chemicals), IVG IMMOBILIEN (Germany, Financial Services), BOLIDEN (Sweden, Basic Resources), VEDANTA RESOURCES (United Kingdom, Basic Resources), UNIPOL PFD (Italy, Insurance), CSR (United Kingdom, Technology), FUGRO (Netherlands, Oil & Gas), AMLIN (United Kingdom, Insurance), SOLARWORLD AG (Germany, Utilities) and BCO PASTOR (Spain, Banks).

Companies exiting the index are: UNIPOL ASSICURAZIONI (Italy, Insurance), GECINA (France, Financial Services), AMER (Finland, Personal & Household Goods), HMV GROUP (United Kingdom, Retail), PRISA (Spain, Media), ZELTIA (Spain, Health Care), SMITH (WH) (United Kingdom, Retail), PREMIERE (Germany, Media), NORTHERN FOODS (United Kingdom, Food & Beverage), T ONLINE INTERNATIONAL (Germany, Technology), TANDBERG (Norway, Technology) and ISOFT GROUP (United Kingdom, Technology).

The sector classifications for the following Dow Jones STOXX 600 components will change: BOURBON (France) from Retail to Oil & Gas and INMARSAT (United Kingdom) from Technology to Telecommunications.

As of January 31, 2006 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX 600 increased from EUR6223.58 billion to EUR6240.24 billion and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Total Market Index from EUR6672.66 billion to EUR6702.12 billion.

The Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 and the Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index are also part of this regular quarterly review. The new composition of the indexes can be found at http://www.stoxx.com/info/reports/reviews2006.html

As of January 31, 2006 the total free-float market capitalization of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX Global 1800 index increased from EUR20,330.48 billion to EUR20,373.54 billion, and of the reconstituted Dow Jones STOXX EU Enlarged Total Market Index increased from EUR72.11 billion to EUR72.43 billion.

The composition of the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index will remain unchanged. The total free-float market capitalization of the Dow Jones STOXX Football Index is EUR614.53 million.

Changes are being announced today after the conclusion of a regular quarterly component review. The adjusted component weightings, including the number of shares and free-float factors, will be announced on March 15, 2006 after close of European markets. All changes will be effective on March 20, 2006.
