RipDigital Introduces MusicMakeover Service Powered by AMG

First Music Recommendation Engine Based on Your Entire Music Collection

NEW YORK, Feb. 22, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- RipDigital, the premier CD-to-digital audio conversion service, today pioneered a first-of-its-kind MusicMakeover service that makes it incredibly simple to update and round out your music collection. RipDigital's MusicMakeover service draws on both the personal preferences of a customer's entire CD collection and the rich, descriptive relational data of the All Music Guide (AMG) and their recently announced playlisting and music recommendation technology called Tapestry.

Following the conversion of its customers' CDs to digital files, RipDigital will email a dynamic range of in-depth recommendations along with links to popular music web sites for sampling and purchase. It's like having a personal music shopper. RipDigital's MusicMakeover will also create intelligent playlists based on a customer's existing music to help them explore the music they already know and love. The combined recommendations and playlist generation offering will be available to RipDigital's premium customers starting in March.

"RipDigital's MusicMakeover adds the perfect compliment to its CD conversion and player loading services - playlists pregenerated from your own collection and in-depth recommendations to help update and round out your music library," said RipDigital CEO Richard Adams. "Through our continuing partnership with AMG and their Lasso media recognition service, RipDigital not only provides groomed artist, title, genre and album art information, but with AMG's Tapestry we also have access to an unmatched treasure trove of relational data that makes intelligent playlist generation and music recommendations possible."

"Together with RipDigital, we are once again breaking new ground," said Andrew Stess, AMG Vice President of Consumer Electronics. "Since RipDigital pioneered CD conversion, it has known that the quality of music data is the key to happy customers. And it also has shown that to delight its customers, it's willing to anticipate their needs with services like the MusicMakeover being introduced in partnership with AMG."

RipDigital plans to offer the MusicMakeover service beyond premium customers in the first quarter of 2006.
