Eastern University to Host Nonprofit Lecture & Award


ST. DAVIDS, Pa., Feb. 21, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Eastern University is hosting a Nonprofit Lecture and award featuring the SEI Investments Award for Non Profit Excellence on April 4, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in McInnis Auditorium at the St. Davids campus.

Louis Mayer, Vice President for Financial Affairs at Saint Joseph's University, will be presenting the topic "Assessing the Financial Viability of Nonprofits." Mr. Mayer is responsible for overseeing all areas of financial management and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, investment management, human resources, risk management, purchasing, and information technology. Prior to joining the University, Mr. Mayer served as Vice President for Finance & Investments and Treasurer for seven years at The William Penn Foundation, a private grant making organization. Before his assignment at the Foundation, Mr. Mayer served as the CFO at The University of the Arts for ten years. He began his career in the audit division of Arthur Andersen LLP, where he was responsible for providing auditing services to a variety of corporate and nonprofit clients.

The SEI Investments Award for Nonprofit Excellence will be presented to a nonprofit organization in the Mid-Atlantic region that has demonstrated excellence in their management. The award is a $5,000 grant and is funded by SEI Investments. SEI is a leading global provider of asset management services and investment technology solutions.
