ATLANTA, Feb. 23, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Beginning this summer, Delta Air Lines' customers will be able to take advantage of new non-stop service between Delta's largest hub in Atlanta and Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Bozeman, Montana.
"Delta is responding to strong passenger demand for convenient service to one of Canada's largest business and leisure markets. In addition, we are building on the success of our winter service to Bozeman by offering twice-weekly summer service to one of the fastest growing leisure destinations in the country," said Bob Cortelyou, Delta's vice president of Network Planning. "These two new destinations will benefit from the extensive connecting opportunities offered by Delta's Atlanta hub, including convenient connections to Latin America and Europe."
Effective June 8, Delta will offer customers round-trip flights between Atlanta and Calgary four times weekly, and round-trip flights between Atlanta and Bozeman twice weekly. Both markets will be served with Delta's Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Delta already serves customers in Calgary and Bozeman through its hub in Salt Lake City.
Also effective June 8th, Delta Connection Carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines will offer new daily service between Atlanta and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, using the quiet and comfortable Bombardier CRJ200 jet aircraft. Delta already serves customers in Cedar Rapids through its hub in Cincinnati.
Delta offers more than 200 destinations daily out of Atlanta, making it easier for customers in Calgary, Bozeman and Cedar Rapids to connect to destinations around the world. Delta's current international growth will provide connecting service through Atlanta to scores of exciting international destinations including Copenhagen, Denmark*; Athens, Greece; Nice, France; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Delta's service expansion announced today is part of the continued transformation of its network, and the latest in a series of new service destinations from Atlanta. Recently Delta announced new service between Atlanta and Atlantic City, and Aguadilla and Ponce in Puerto Rico. In the last several months, Delta has announced more than 20 new nonstop destinations out of Atlanta.
