IASA and InsureWorx Present 'Predictive Underwriting in the Insurance Industry'

DURHAM, N.C., Feb. 24, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- IASA and InsureWorx are pleased to announce the upcoming presentation of a jointly sponsored free web seminar, "Predictive Underwriting in the Insurance Industry," on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. EST.

As you may know, risks are growing more complex, sources of claims are becoming more varied and underwriting time pressures are tightening. These factors make the process of making underwriting decisions more intricate and less certain. Predictive underwriting technology is gaining a foothold in the industry as P&C underwriters learn the value of using technology and predictive analysis to more accurately select and price risk. Sophisticated predictive models can help underwriters complete the risk assessment component of their jobs better and faster, freeing them to focus on other mission critical tasks.

This free web seminar will focus on real-world examples, give an overview of predictive underwriting technology in the P&C industry -- the dos and don'ts of predictive modeling, underlying data issues, the impact on change management, and the needed analytical, technological, data management skill areas. This presentation will be moderated by Joe Pomilia, Executive Director -- Insurance Accounting & Systems Association, Inc. (IASA), and speakers will include: Glenn Meyers, Chief Actuary -- ISO Innovative Analytics, Darlene Pogrebinsky, Director of Analytic Development -- ISO Innovative Analytics, Becky Adriaenssens-Colucci, Senior Vice President -- Meadowbrook Insurance, and Rodney Griffin, Account Management Executive -- InsureWorx.
