The last couple weeks we've argued the market is overbought. Our stance is that all major markets are at technical highs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Our opinion of the markets is still that we're seeing highs that cannot be sustained.
If you are a day trader we think the waters are getting deeper and more dangerous. The time to role the dice (so to speak) was a couple months ago. Now, we think you're better off keeping your "play money" in your pocket.
For long-term investors, we'd look at selling some calls on stocks we held. If you are going to hang on to your holdings over the next month or so, we suggest you let someone else take on the risk for you. Selling calls to cover your positions (or buying puts) is a good way to protect yourself.
And, we think protection may be in order.
