Husqvarna's New 'Quiet Blower' Offers Low Noise, High Power

Helps Combat Nation's Growing Noise Pollution Issue

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 6, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- The world's leading manufacturer of outdoor power equipment is tackling a growing national concern head-on with an innovative new product. Across the United States, communities are placing an ever higher priority on minimizing noise pollution, and, for many years, outdoor equipment such as gas-powered blowers has been at the center of that push. With the development of the new 356BT "Quiet Blower," however, Husqvarna is taking proactive steps to help communities address the issue, and the company has been able to do it without sacrificing the pro-level performance for which its products are known.

Husqvarna integrates high blower capacity, low noise levels, and a new ergonomic design into the new 356BT backpack blower. The new blower can be used at times and places that a conventional blower cannot, resulting in increased productivity and usefulness for both professional users and homeowners.

Utilizing a newly developed, high powered engine and efficient engine housing, the 356BT produces higher torque at lower rpms, making the sound level during operation comparable to a conversation in a normal tone of voice (64 db(A) at 50 feet). Equipped with Husqvarna's exclusive E-Tech II(tm) technology, the blower reduces emissions by as much as 60 percent while maintaining powerful performance.

The blower's advanced ergonomic design makes it easy to carry and operate. The sturdy construction also helps to ensure a long product life and high durability during transport and handling. For operator comfort, the 356BT has a new, load-reducing harness, with padded shoulder straps and a hip belt that distributes the blower's weight. The adjustable handle is placed on the outside of the shaft, to provide better control while working.

For ease of operation and better control, the blower is equipped with the Low-Vib(r) anti-vibration system, another Husqvarna feature that separates the engine with spiral springs of steel, resulting in low vibration levels. The combination of advanced features and outstanding performance makes the 356BT or 356BF an excellent value for users, joining the Husqvarna product line in providing efficiency, effectiveness, and dependability.

Husqvarna also offers the 356BF blower, with all the same features as the 356BT except the throttle is located on the frame instead of the tube.

The 356BT is equipped with Husqvarna's Air Injection(tm) system -- previously only available on Husqvarna chain saws -- that removes up to 97 percent of dust before it enters the filter, resulting in smoother operation, extended filter cleaning intervals and decreased wear on the engine. The engine and fan are integrated, enabling the blower's center of gravity to be closer to the operator's spine so the weight of the blower acts like an extension of the body.

Husqvarna, a member of the Electrolux Group, offers forest, lawn and garden power equipment for all applications. The company markets a complete line of chain saws, clearing saws, cut-off saws, and lawn and garden products, including riding and walk-behind mowers, yard and garden tractors, tillers, edgers, brushcutters, grass trimmers, backpack and handheld blowers, snow throwers, and commercial turf care equipment.
