Fear mongers would have you believe that the end is near. You know that type, right? The Discovery Channel or History Channel spotlight the "doom and gloomers" each the last month or so -- just in time for the New Year.
But, here's what those shows miss: What goes down must come up.
The stock market is the same. We believe that the market is heading for a pull-back. But that is a great time to sell calls on stock you own. It's a wonderful opportunity to sell puts on stocks you WANT to own. The "end" of a run up is the beginning of a short-sell bonanza.
World markets must find balance. Balance will come with further correction. Our admonition is to lighten the load on stocks and look at strategies like covered calls and put-selling to give you a head start on the market's next rally.
