EMS Technologies Closes Sale of Satellite Networks Division to Advantech


ATLANTA and MONTREAL, March 9, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- EMS Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:ELMG) announced today the closing of the sale of its Satellite Networks (SatNet) division to Advantech Advanced Microwave Technologies Inc. of Montreal, Canada. EMS originally announced the signing of a definitive agreement for the sale on Dec. 22. During the past two months, the two companies have worked to obtain the necessary consents from key suppliers and customers. Final terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Satellite Networks has approximately 81 employees. Advantech, a leading designer and manufacturer of satellite and wireless telecommunications products, employs 300 people in locations across the United States, Europe and Canada.
